Halloween PBL excitement!

For three weeks I have been assigned to work with Cosmetology students.  We have been having a blast working with special effects makeup.  Senior students are designing their senior capstone projects around creating a character-- including the background narrative, makeup, and clothing choices. This is a character that will be involved in the Halloween PBL community event.  Last week, a student, Cheyenne St. Clair created an effect that scared nearly everyone in the school that I encountered.  That was the most fun I had all week!!                  : )))))

Our Halloween event kick-off begins

Hello!  Today, we enjoyed our big Halloween Community Event PBL kick-off.  Harry, aka, "The Hatchet Man," visited the entire Service Academy in order to garner support and gain henchmen to help terrorize the Getaway community during our Halloween event.  All program areas began planning the scary event we plan to host on October 13 and 14. This event will have a fun literacy program for younger children and a scary tour for the older crowd.  Our Service Academy is bursting with ideas and plans for this fun event!

We have a new website

This is our first blog post on our new website. I am excited to discuss our new project based learning experience that will kick-off the new school year.  We are going to work together to create a fun and exciting community Halloween event.  It will necessitate cooperation and learning from every program involved in the Service Academy.  How far reaching will the project be?  Only we will have the answer to this question. There are some exciting and scary events that occurred in Getaway, Ohio.  And you thought this was a boring place to live or visit?  Think again!
