Below you will discover the many ways Ms. Born's English Classroom is integrating your student's program area into language arts  instruction.

  • During homeroom, students will learn annotation techniques that will help them learn to comprehend and study informational text much more effectively.  Students will be reading program related articles from our INFOhio database. They will also be writing a well organized and thoughtful response to the article. Students will also learn the importance of bibliographic information in the the research process.
  • All service program areas are working collaboratively to develop a community wide Halloween Event. This project-based learning event will begin the week of August 21st.
  • All service program areas will work to improve these job search skills:  resume and cover letter creation, career pathway research and planning, job search skills, interviewing, and dressing for success.  The English instructor and the program teacher will work collaboratively to improve and discover students' career opportunities within their chosen field.
  • Cosmetology students are creating a Google slides presentation on the special effects makeup they are creating for the Halloween PBL.  They are also writing a narrative to provide background information for the scary character they are creating for the community event.
  • All senior students are working on program-related Capstone project research papers.
  • Ms. Born is working with Early Childhood Education students developing a literacy program for the Halloween PBL unit.
